Chairman's Highlights
Hello,
Welcome to our new North American IPv6 Task Force (NAv6TF) web site. We have redesigned our site to provide a better look and feel and to reflect the tremendous growth the NAv6TF has experienced in the last few years. You can read about the NAv6TF mission, history, and our affiliation with the IPv6 Forum by visiting the NAv6TF History page. The NAv6TF will be undertaking many new tasks in 2005 by working with Industry, Government, and Internet Service Providers. IPv6 is an enabler for Next Generation Networks and Network Centric Operations for many reasons, but the greatest advantage of IPv6 is its restoration of the end-to-end model of the original Internet.
The NAv6TF will continue to provide IPv6 leadership with our seminars and summits, technical subject matter experts, and projects. The Moonv6 and IPv6 Business Council projects will continue to provide IPv6 leadership world wide. We will continue to expand our industry forum collaborations, including working with the IPv6 Forum, and partnering with other industry consortiums to assist in the deployment of IPv6 across multiple market sectors and technology spectrums. The NAv6TF will continue to support the creation of new sub-chapters within North America, such as the new California IPv6 Task Force (CAv6TF). The NAv6TF will be working with CAv6TF to implement another project named MetroNet6, which will be an R&D First Responder Wireless network using IPv6.
In closing, the NAv6TF will continue its social mission in accordance with our parent organization, the IPv6 Forum, to remain an all volunteer organization, and to assist in the deployment of IPv6 for the greater good, so that the power of the Internet is ultimately available to all.
Sincerely,
/jim
